3 fun things to try in Perth

Because it’s always nice to have some recommendations, right? I used to think Perth was boring (yes, I was THAT girl), because of pre-conceptions and simply not knowing where to go. The social scene doesn’t exactly slap you in the face compared to Melbourne and Sydney.

So, in no particular order, here are 3 fun things I’ve done in Perth recently…

1. Padel Crush, Wembley

I had to jump on the latest craze- and it is well worth the hype. Padel Crush in Wembley have all outdoor courts, so it is worth saying if it’s baking hot, you will need shade breaks. Equally if it rains…good luck. I went with my boyfriend, but it is more od a doubles game, so four people are far more encouraged over two- so you don’t run yourself to death!

For any beginners- yes, you can hire rackets and balls there for a small fee! There are also drinks on offer, but of course we both brought water bottles with us as there is a fountain where you can fill up!

2. Bottomless Brunches, CBD

So, interestingly I went from doing no bottomless brunches in the two years I’ve been in Perth, to two in the space of two weeks. They were both incredibly different vibes, which I loved.

The first one I did was Lil’s Rooftop in the city and I did this with the girls.

The ultimate girl’s day out- think girly aesthetics, rooftop vibes, cocktail jugs and spritzes, and hustle and bustle because a Saturday is no joke- you want to be booking!

It is worth noting the food here was sensational! Best I’ve had with a bottomless brunch. In all my UK experiences in Manchester, the food has never been anything substantial, so I always felt inclined to try and eat beforehand. Absolutely no need here! The plates were endless… they never stopped coming! I was right in strugg-city by the end; I couldn’t finish everything. I believe the dishes are seasonal… so they may always be subject to change, but every plate was delicious. Not to mention at the end, a guy goes around with cannoli (a sweet sicilian pastry) literally strapped around his neck! Yep, you heard!

The second one was Brewdog in West Perth. I tried to find one almost opposite to the Lil’s experience, as it was for my boyfriend’s birthday! He had never done a bottomless before 9shocking I know), so I was determined to find one that wasn’t so girly!

I landed on Brewdog after I saw the food selection! As you can see, it had a lot of fried foods, tacos etc- my man’s type of food, so I was sold.

We did a huge group booking of 16 (the poor staff), so everyone was given a wristband, and then you have 2 hours of unlimited (selected) beers, wines and spritzs. Safe to say we all got our money’s worth!

Brewdog was huge- they have a games room, pool table upstairs and also a lovely beer garden! Highly recommend and all the lads approved!

3. Perth Hills

This one surprised me. Don’t get me wrong, I had heard it was beautiful and I was very much expecting this, but there were so many things to do in the day. I wasn’t sure if it was just going to be a site-seeing and head home, but it was so much more. Where we visited…

- Lesmurdie Falls

- Mundaring Weir

- Masonmill (restaurant/bar, fishpond, mini-golf & beautiful gardens all here)

- Core Cider (picturesque brewery)

Overall, amazing day, especially because we got the weather! I feel like there are so many more hidden gems to discover.
